UC Irvine Division of Continuing Education announces strategic partnership
to advance AI learning and enablement
Collaboration with Alonsera will connect learning with real-world expertise in artificial intelligence research, implementation, transformation and responsible deployment

Irvine, Calif., October 1, 2026 — The University of California, Irvine Division of Continuing Education (DCE) today announced a partnership with Alonsera, an integrated consulting firm, Global AI Center of Excellence and Venture Studio. The partnership will expand learning and enablement programs for executives, government leaders, professionals and organizations navigating the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.

The collaboration combines UC Irvine DCE’s academic and continuing education expertise with Alonsera’s practitioner-led capabilities in artificial intelligence research, development, implementation, organizational transformation and venture creation. Together, the organizations will help leaders and institutions move beyond theoretical understanding and early experimentation toward practical AI capability, responsible innovation, workforce readiness, and measurable organizational impact.

Coursework will bridge the gap between what is theoretically possible with AI and what organizations can responsibly implement and sustain. Through case-based instruction, applied projects, implementation exercises, and expert-led discussions, participants will examine how AI is developed, governed, deployed and adopted in real-world environments.

“Continuing education plays a vital role in helping professionals and institutions respond to rapidly changing technologies,” said Kristine Collins, dean of the Division of Continuing Education. “This partnership offers learners a connection between theory and experimentation and the realities of AI implementation. By engaging with experienced practitioners, participants can build knowledge that is both current and immediately relevant to the challenges facing their organizations.”

The programs are intended to serve senior executives, government officials and employees, technology and business leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, policymakers and professionals seeking to understand and apply AI within their organizations. Learning opportunities will emphasize three interconnected priorities: future-ready growth, security-first execution, and human-centered leadership.

A range of learning opportunities will include:

  • Online masterclasses focused on responsible AI, governance, security, data strategy, commercialization, leadership, and organizational readiness.

  • Multiweek immersive programs guiding participants from strategic alignment through AI enablement, implementation and pilot launch.

  • Executive and government intensive programs addressing enterprise transformation, public-sector AI, policy, infrastructure, workforce readiness and responsible innovation.

  • Custom corporate and institutional programs designed to build internal AI capability and organizational readiness.

“Organizations need more than a theoretical understanding of artificial intelligence. They need the practical judgment and implementation capabilities required to apply AI responsibly in complex real-world environments,” said Christine Duque, CEO and Managing Partner of Alonsera. “Our partnership with UC Irvine DCE will help leaders and institutions move from ideas and experimentation to responsible execution and measurable impact.”
