Alonsera Appoints Dr. Joseph S. Cabuay as Partner and Chief Architect for Global Executive Education & Dialogues

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Executive educator and former senior officer to the UN Secretary-General joins Alonsera's Global AI Center of Excellence to help executives, boards and public-sector leaders build the skills to lead and transform with AI

IRVINE, Calif., November 4, 2026 — Alonsera, a Strategic Consulting, Global AI Center of Excellence (CoE), and Venture Studio helping leaders build responsible, human-centered AI, today announced that Dr. Joseph S. Cabuay has joined the firm as Partner and Chief Architect for Global Executive Education & Dialogues. Based in South Korea, he has delivered executive programs across the globe since 1997. He will begin with the flagship AI Masterclass for Enterprise Senior Leaders, which Alonsera offers with the University of California, Irvine Division of Continuing Education.

Dr. Cabuay will advance the first two pillars of the CoE, which leads Alonsera's research, education and applied innovation. In Learning & Enablement, he will architect the firm's global executive-education portfolio of masterclasses, multi-week immersives, executive and government residencies and custom enterprise programs. In Global Dialogues & Events, he will lead the convenings and working groups that bring senior executives, board directors and public-sector leaders together on how to lead as AI reshapes how work gets done. Both connect to Alonsera's Strategic Consulting and Venture Studio, from strategic intent to measurable impact.

Dr. Cabuay designs and facilitates AI governance and leadership programs for bank and insurance board members and was previously a senior facilitator with Duke Corporate Education. He has equipped Microsoft and Samsung executives worldwide to win complex enterprise deals and negotiate with senior stakeholders, and has developed leaders for Goldman Sachs, UBS, POSCO, Roche, Nokia and Korean Air, directly and through partners including Duke Corporate Education, as well as public-sector leaders for the Korean government's National Human Resources Development Institute.

His 38-year career includes service as a Senior Officer for the UN Secretary-General's security planning and communications, reporting directly to the Secretary-General; Vice President for global business at the New York City Economic Development Corporation; and Founding Executive Director of Asia Society Korea Center.

"For most organizations, the gap is no longer access to AI. It is whether their leaders have the skills to lead through it," said Christine Duque, CEO and Managing Partner of Alonsera. "That is why our Global AI Center of Excellence doesn't just teach AI; it builds the capacity to lead it. Joe has spent 38 years building exactly this kind of capability, from the UN headquarters in New York to executive teams at Microsoft and Samsung across the globe, and he will lead how our CoE equips leaders and institutions to lead and transform."

"Across Asia-Pacific, the question in the boardroom has moved from 'should we use AI?' to 'who answers for it?'" said Dr. Cabuay. "Learning to lead and leading to learn used to be a leadership ideal. With AI, it is the job description."

Dr. Cabuay holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Northeastern University with an applied research focus on technological systems management, and a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University, with a functional concentration in Science & Technology Policy Management. He is an Association for Talent Development (ATD) Master Trainer and a Master Certified Coach of the Behavioral Coaching Institute (M.C.C.-BCI).

Boards and C-suite teams in banking and insurance, enterprise leadership teams and government agencies interested in executive residencies, custom programs or Global Dialogues & Events can contact Dr. Cabuay directly at Joseph@alonsera.com or visit www.alonsera.com.
